The Collective Scheme aims to transform voluntary initiatives into a coordinated system, thereby increasing the effectiveness of measures against littering. Specifically, Erion Care will contribute towards the costs incurred by local authorities or public waste collection service managers for the removal, transportation and treatment of REFILLS (waste from plastic tobacco product filters). The Collective Scheme will also finance local awareness campaigns for a cleaner environment and a data collection and reporting system.

In 2024, Erion Care launched ‘Senza Filtri’, the first print media campaign to raise awareness of the impact that tobacco product littering has on the environment.

Thanks to technology developed by the Italian start-up company JustOnEarth, Erion Care has extended its commitment to evaluating the effectiveness of urban litter interception systems for tobacco products.
